Although the American muscle cars of displayed at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show is not only the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, but this car is worthy to be called ‘the real monsters’ because of power of the engine under its hood. Just imagine the power difference between this car and the Ford Mustang who also appeared on this car show is 200 horsepower. Of course it’s very far away. In fact, Ford claims that the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 is the most powerful production V8 in the world. And to satisfy the buyers, Ford provides several options regarding the package can be selected by the buyer. The packages are the electronically-adjustable Bilstein dampers, a Torsen limited slip rear differential, rear-differential cooler, transmission cooler, and a Track Package that bolts on an external engine oil cooler.
On under the hood of 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, there is a 5.8-liter aluminum V8 engine that is able to issue a power of 650 horsepower and torque of 600 pound-feet. This engine is also equipped with a supercharged and combined with new manual six-speed transmission that has a final drive ratio of 3:31-to-1. In addition, this car also 270 pounds lighter than its main rival the Camaro ZL1. Powertrain is increasing and the addition of such updated camshaft profiles, a carbon fiber driveshaft and upgraded clutch, a new cross-drilled block and heads, upgraded cooling system, and upgraded clutch, transmission and axle.
